Made New Ministries

Rev. Macon Armistead - Spiritual Director

What exactly is a spiritual director?

As a spiritual director, I offer sacred space for holy listening where both you and I listen to God together. If you are in a season of spiritual questions, discerning God's direction for your life, needing spiritual healing and care, or desiring a deeper connection to the Spirit, I would love to talk with you about scheduling a holy listening session.

Why do I need spiritual direction?

Here are my areas of focus and experience in spiritual direction. If any of these speak to your soul, Made New might be a good fit for you in this season of life:

  • Spiritual direction can help you with vocational discernment. You have the space to ask big questions about your future, God’s plan for your life, and how you might use your gifts to serve God and neighbor.

  • One tool that spiritual direction can use is guided meditation, a practice that anchors your imagination to a story, image, or verse so you might be better able to listen for God’s voice.

  • If you are a church, ministry, team, or organization, spiritual direction can help you discover your community identity. Working together as a group, we can unlock your shared calling and point you toward the Spirit’s work in your context.

  • Spiritual direction can be adapted for retreats, both individual and communal. I can assist in designing and developing a retreat, as well as facilitate a spiritually intentional time away.

Holy listening sessions can be for individuals, as well as for congregations, leadership teams/councils, staff and volunteers, etc. Personal and communal discernment is foundational to our spiritual lives as the body of Christ.

Peace and grace on your journey, friends. We are in this together.
